Waterproofing My Boots?
Do I need to waterproof my velvet boots? And if I do, what product should I use to do it? I don't want any spots or especially stains on them!
These aren't suede, their velvet.
It's a bit odd, so I'm scared to use just a regular spray. I don't want the spray to make my boots darker or damage them. Does anyone have a specific product?
By velvet do you mean suade?
If so, use a suade protector spray. There are ones specifically for suade which act as a waterproofer and dirt/grime repellent.
Stains can sometimes be removed with a suade block which you rub onto the area, but if you spill something on them, like any material, it may stain so be careful and spray the boots regularly as you wear them.
Any reputable shoe shop should stock the protector sprays so ask the staff about one.
