Waterproof/smudge-proof eyebrow pencil that really works?
Hi my names Victoria and I have a question I want to ask. I have naturally blond hair, and recently I've decided I would like to go to a light auburn brown color. The problem with this is my eyebrows are a lighter color then my natural hair and are pretty thin as well. I'm currently 19 years old and I used to go swimming a lot, but as I got older my hair got darker but not my brows so I tried using a pencil for the last few years. At first I made the common mistake of going too dark but have gotten better now. Anyways my question has to do with the fact that having barely any eyebrows has stopped me from swimming and has made me very self conscious. I was wondering if you have heard of any good waterproof/ smudge proof pencils or growth serums that might work for me.

The good news is you have several options open to you. The better news is you have water proof options to you so that you can remain in the pool and not worry about smudging your brow product. You even have several growth products available to you.
First off, have you considered having your brows and lashes tinted? Lash and brow tint come in a WIDE variety of colors including lt. auburn and that takes the need for a pencil product away unless you need to fill in where you've lost a few brows. In that case, there are some GREAT pencils for redheads and blondes. I'm don't know where you live but short of it being a very small or remote town in the U.S. I can't imagine not having a tinting service unavailable to you. If this is something that sounds of interest, drop me an email and I can give you the name of some tint brands if you cannot find someone to do this service in your area.
Other products for lt. auburn brows include:
Laura Mercier has excellent brow powders, gels and pencils with a great variety of colors for blondes, redheads and brown/brunettes. I think these products are very good, however...not waterproof.

This company is a very intersting co. with a cult following. They also have a growth serum that I personally cannot verify as well as a product called "more brows" that is a fiber containing gel that makes you look as if you have more brows than you actually do. You can find info here:

These brow colors have gotten good reviews, but I know they're not waterproof. I don't have faith in this hair growth serum at all. I include this because red heads/auburns seem to really like this brandhttp://www.billiondollarbrows.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=29&products_id=53
So far, we know that unless the hair is actually tinted, products that lay on top of the brows are going to eventually come off in water. But, you have some good products to use should you opt out of tinting.
On to growth serums:
I know if two and ONLY two that work and I'm biased towards one of those. This isn't saying there are not more out there, however, price IS an indicator of a good growth serum...it's just the way it is. There's a reason good growth serums are expensive (besides a little corporate greed) and that ingredient costs. Quite simply, a lash/brow growth serum that sells for $30 is NOT a bargain compared to a growth serum containing the appropriate amount of serum necessary to grow hair at $165. It just isn't. Anyway, hope I could provide some info/insight into helping you with your brow question. If you live in a large city and have a salon that offers good (key word is "good" here) "brow make overs" that include consultation, shaping, tinting, brow extentions, etc., that might be an option as well.
one final note... I often use a small slanted taklon brush (because it's stiff & non natural bristles) with a little mustache wax and go over any brow I have used powdered color on. It just helps to set the powder and shape the hair on the brow. It won't waterproof your brow but it will keep it on just a bit longer.
