Trilogy Spa
a sampling of all press
In 2002 Trilogy Spa
a tiny 8-door salon from Hermosa
Beach, California approached us with
the desire to differentiate their
brand in order to attract investors
and expand to new locations.
At that
time there was little or no consistency
in their brand name or key messages
and there was no strategy or positioning
in place other than offering a good
service at a fair price.
After discovering
that the owner had grown up on the
island of Molokai we were flooded
with ideas for a Hawaiian inspired
spa products, treatments and services.
We created Trilogy as a “destination
day spa” where you could visit
Hawaii without leaving the Mainland.
The Swiss Vichy Shower
got renamed the Hawaiian Wailele
Waterfall Shower, kukui nut oil,
macadamia nut oil, aloe scrubs and
Ti Leaf wraps as well as Hawaiian
fragrances were added to already
existing treatments and renamed to
reflect the new Hawaiian positioning.
Media placements started
coming as consistently as waves to
the shores of Waikiki in Elle, Harper’s
Bazaar, Lucky, Allure, Shape, Self,
Angeleno, Hollywood Reporter, Where
and even Food and Wine! Trilogy got
the exposure they needed to attract
key investors and has since opened
additional locations in Manhattan
Beach and Squaw Valley.
