Mass Music Dome

When our client, the experience design firm o2 Creative Solutions, approached us to handle the public relations for a large-scale, live event they were involved in, we had a lot of questions.

When we were told it would be held at a landmark location, incorporate a geodesic dome, the World¹s largest harp, giant drum sculptures and talented singers, we jumped at the opportunity.

When we were told we would only have five short weeks to prepare the materials, introduce the unique project to the media and public and garner powerful results, we didn¹t just jump, we jumped high.

MASS MUSIC DOME, a completely immersive visual and musical performance event in which the venue is the musical instrument, was housed on the famed Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica, CA and played to sold-out houses in each of its nine performances. This is even more noteworthy considering that the show had never been produced before and was opening in a major market with many entertainment options.

How were we able to generate such excitement for an event that had little advertising and no track-record? We approached the project as we do with all our clients. We identified our goals, systematically plotted the steps necessary to achieve them and worked diligently to produce results. The outcome was major print and television placement that directly led to standing room only crowds. And as we worked with our media colleagues during each night of the event, we were very happy to be among those standing.
