the right lip color?
okay i have dark dark brown hair, my cover up is soft honey, so thats my skin tone, i have full lips, but nothing to put on them besides clear gloss, i dont want lip color to make me look to dark or too pale ( if i wore pink on my lips) i just dont know what to wear on my lips! i want a color that can go woth anything i wear, i wear alot of pink, light blue, white and black i only wear black mascera and purple eyeliner to define my brown eyes ( its a kit thing from maybelline) but i hate not having a single thing for my lips i used to wear lip liner but it gave people the wrong perception of me, being mexican and all, can any one please help me?
It sounds like you need a color that is slightly neutral, and you seem to favor cool tones. Look for a pink that is mixed with brown, in a shade that is just slightly darker than your skin. Mary Kay Frosted Rose is like that, and you can top with gloss if you prefer. You can go to www.marykay.com and look for a local consultant who can help you find a shade. Lip liner can really help color stay put, but don't think of it as a "line" because that gives too hard a look. Apply in soft, feathery strokes, and fill in to give lipcolor something to cling to. Don't choose a shade that is darker--choose one that is a good match or is very neutral.
It's hard to find shades at the drugstore, where they seem to no longer have testers. But department stores still do. Here's a tip: test shades on your fingertips and then hold them up to your face. The back of your hand is not going to be even close to your lips' natural color, but your fingertips will be a bit better.
Good luck!
